LANSING, Mich (WLMI) The Michigan League for Human Services has put out its latest "Kids Count" report—and, it shows some disturbing trends over the past decade. Kids Count director Jane Zehnder-Merrell says nearly half of all school children - 46-point-five-percent - are receiving free or reduced price school lunches, up from just over 36-percent in 2006. She said the numbers aren't all bad, however, as the number of high school dropouts has fallen along with the percentage of teens getting pregnant.
